Hi, I’m Matt. I like camping, hiking, building things, and science. I teach science at Sobriety High School, a small charter school district in the Twin Cities, MN. Before that I worked as a web programmer at Cazarin Web Group. And before that I went to UMM where I graduated with a BS in Chemistry and became a licensed high school chemistry teacher.
This site first started when I was trying out different domain names and was shocked no one had taken MudandMayhem.com! Being a huge Calvin and Hobbes fan, I couldn’t resist buying it. Eventually I decided it would be a good place for all of my future experiments. Things like arduino contraptions, becoming the new owner of a house built in 1876, trying to build a log cabin, and the daily experiment of teaching high school students.
Along with my personal adventures I’ll be posting some of my teaching stuff that I want to separate from my class website, ScienceFor.Us.
I’m a big fan of open source software and feel strongly that education should be free and open. As a result, all lessons, labs and other materials that I created (don’t want to take credit for others) are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 3.0 License.
If you’re feeling generous buy me something from my Teaching Wish List (Amazon). If you’re feeling super generous, here’s my Personal Wish List (Amazon).
