- UNESCO science curriculum is amazing! It has a lot of good labs and ideas for building your own equipment. There are a lot of other great books filled with labs. The one aimed at girls with labs on how to make lipstick, makeup, toothpaste, and buttons. I downloaded all of them and browsed through them, it’s hard to tell from the descriptions whats in them, but there are some really cool cheap labs. - http://www.unesco.org/en/science-and-technology/toolkits/
- I’ve been using some of the kitchen chemistry labs found athttp://www.chatham.edu/PTI/curriculum/units/2001/03.cfm The curriculum by Susan J. Pater has a lot of great cheap activities and explainations.
- Here is a great list of common chemicals and supplies that can be found in common household items. It’s a great reference for the common names of many chemicals and their formulas as well as likely sources.
