I wanted to find a way to let students show off their success in science class. After finding the humorous Science Scouts page I decided to begin handing out science merit badges. Using many of the existing badge images found on the Science Scouts page I have modified the names and descriptions to be more applicable to my high school classes and students. I print them out on 1″ circle stickers which students can put on their notebooks or folders. Feel free to download the images or avery templates and hand them out to your students. I have a “catalog” of badges that can be earned for students to browse on their own. On occasion I will create new badges to accompany labs or field trips.
